Some more creative suggestions:
Cooks: you can host cooking or baking lessons for 6-8 people; make and deliver a gourmet meal for 4 - 10 people; provide monthly baked goods/desserts, soup meals, or dinner meals once a month to the buyer for 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year. You can get as creative with your cooking offers as you get with your food!
Photographers: take children and/or family photos complete with a photo shoot, proof and picture package; give lessons for using either a manual or digital camera.
Scrap-booking: you can offer to put together a customized one occasion scrapbook. For example, a parent special birthday or anniversary, a child's birthday, etc.,
Artist: you can host basic art lessons depending on your interest (introduction to watercolor, oils, acrylics, pencil drawing); offer to paint something for a child's room and/or do a wall mural; host a children's art party for a birthday/holiday. Any other artistic/crafting abilities can also be turned into auction donations.
Sewing, knitting, crocheting: you can offer lessons to small groups; make a basket of a particular theme (baby basket); make a customized child's dress/clothing; sew a quilt; crochet /knit a blanket, or any clothing. Handmade things, particularly when customized or personalized, are always highly valued!
Even if you are not going to the Gala event you can still help make it a success by hosting a pajama sleepover party for 4-6 kids from your class on the night of the auction. Parents from your class who are going can relax knowing their kids are with friends and not have to worry about getting back by a certain time for the babysitter. The treat continues with being able to sleep in a bit in the morning knowing the kids are at your house having a yummy breakfast!
Your home could be ideal to host certain types of parties or events: pool parties, movie nights, backyard camp outs, star-gazing wine and cocoa night, special dinners. We will work with you on getting the right package together.
Your hobby or sports interest can also be turned into auction donations:
Guided hiking trips
Private sailing lessons
Golf lessons at your club
Tennis/squash/racquetball clinics
Seasonal planting advice and help if you enjoy gardening
One-on-one fitness training
Nutrition consultation and meal planning
Language classes
Wine tasting evening
Yoga classes
Computer/technical advice
We hope we have given you are few ideas, but feel free to be creative, and don’t hesitate to contact us with any suggestions or questions.
From all of us on the Gala Team, thank you for helping make Frou Frou, the best event yet!
