General Auction Information
Please carefully read the descriptions of the auction items listed in this booklet and online. Some items may contain special conditions, limitations or other information that is important for you to be aware of, such as expiration dates and restrictions.
All items are sold “as is.” All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds are possible.
The International School of the Peninsula has made no independent investigation of the value or quality of any of the professional services or tangible items offered as auction items.
The monetary values of the auction items are estimates only and are not warranted for tax purposes or general value. The payment of an auction item in excess of fair market value may provide the purchaser an income tax deduction. If you make any purchases, you will receive a receipt. On the receipt, we will list the item’s fair market value, the amount paid for the item and the difference, if the amount paid exceeds the fair market value. Please contact your tax advisor for further tax information.
Dates for services, trips, private dinners, etc. are to be arranged between the purchaser and the auction donor. The buyer is responsible for initiating contact with the donor to arrange mutually agreeable times. Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used by March 27, 2011. Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash. Successful bidders are advised that all activities, services, and products are not sponsored by the International School of the Peninsula. Online Auction
All online items in this booklet and donor acknowledgements are based on gifts received by January 15, 2010. You will need to register and enter your credit card number on our secure website in order to bid on items. Watch our online website at http://www.istp.org/auction for new items. The school will be handling all charges made to your credit card. Online bidding will close at 10:00 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010. All items purchased online must be picked up at ISTP’s Cohn Campus between March 31, 2010 and April 30, 2010. Gift certificates can be mailed upon request.
Buy Now Price
Most online auction items will have a “buy now” price. The value will be posted online for those interested in a guaranteed purchase. The “buy now” price will be honored as the winning bid.
Live Auction
The Live Auction begins at 7:20 p.m. A list of the Live Auction items is provided in this booklet. This booklet serves as your “paddle.” Your bidding number is on the back inside page of the booklet.
To bid on an item, please raise your booklet, showing your bidding number to the auctioneer. During the Live Auction, the highest bidder will be acknowledged by the auctioneer as the purchaser of the auction item. This acknowledgement constitutes a binding contract to purchase the auction item.
Your Auction ID Number
Your assigned bidding number for the Gala is on the back of this booklet. You must use your bidding number to bid.
Absentee Bidding
Even if you are unable to make it to the Gala, you can still place an absentee bid on items at the Gala that interest you. Complete and turn in the form on pg. 11 of the auction booklet or downloaded by clicking here, which authorizes an ISTP staff volunteer at the auction to bid on your behalf. Forms must be turned in to the reception of either campus by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010.
